Dorothy Potts literally gave my father a new lease on life. He had extreme hearing loss over the past several years. She was very kind , caring and compassionate. She gave him excellent care. My dad is now enjoying listening to the beautiful sounds around him and enjoying his life. I can honestly say that Dorothyu2019s extraordinary care has changed my dads life in the most amazing way. Our family was so impressed by Lynn and Dorothy!! We brought our 87 yr old dad in to see them and they were not only kind but took the time to explain in detail how the process worked. It actually drove Dorothy to tears to see how little our Dad could hear. He also cried when the test was going on and he finally heard . We canu2019t thank you enough for giving him that back. The staff are friendly and thoughtful. I felt my testing was done in a very easy to understand manner and the technical information was very thorough. They offered a great discount if I were to purchase, yet I'm looking into alternative brands and devices. It is thanks to them I am now armed with a better knowledge of what to look for.

My husband's and my experience at True North Hearing is beyond exceptional. First of all, my husband is not usually comfortable going to doctors or anyone having to do with taking care of himself. He's pretty skeptical and untrusting, especially if he feels someone is trying to sell him something. He's been suffering from Tinnitus for years; in the last year, it has become much worse, as has his hearing. Dorothy has been following him for the past two years and has been more caring and empathetic than his ENT who doesn't even follow up on the notes she sends him. She is the kindest, most knowledgeable, and sweetest person and has earned my husband's trust. She presents you with information and options so you can make your own informed decisions. He has experienced some relief from the Tinnitus from some hearing aids with maskers she let him demo and will be getting his own soon. I highly recommend going to Dorothy for any hearing evaluations. You will feel like you've made a new friend. P.S. Lynn at the front desk is also a wonderful right-hand person to Dorothy and has helped with any insurance questions we might have.

My experience with the Audiologist Dorothy Potts was exemplary and efficient. With the sales guy who tried to convince me to u201cupgradeu201d my hearing aids, not so much. I donu2019t really appreciate this aspect of True North. I liked it better when it was Belsono, and if the Audiologist thought I should consider new aids, then I might listen.

I got new hearing aids yesterday. It was my first time getting them through my insurance (Martin's Point - Amplifon). It was also Dorothy and Lynn's first time using this insurance. From the hearing test through ordering and getting the settings to be optimal for me, I felt that I was receiving the best of care. Dorothy and Lynn were thorough and attentive to my needs. They took the time to make sure that everything was exactly as I needed it to be. They are caring and compassionate and they were excellent in explaining each step of the process to me. Great skill and service from Dorothy Potts at Belsono Hearing Center in Dover, NH My six year old digital hearing aids just werenu2019t doing the job anymore. I went in for a free hearing test and trial of a modern hearing aid. MS Potts LHIS, did a sound booth test of both ears and programmed a modern hearing aid to the testu2019s specification. My hearing was very much improved so I took them for a home trial for a few weeks. I also looked them up on line where they were available for about 20% less cost. I called the company, whose representative said all I have to do is send them the audiogram from the test I took and they would program the new hearing aids. Same length of warranty. If I need any non-warranty service he said I could get it locally for $35 per visit (more like $75-$100 once I checked). I decided itu2019s more like buying a new computer than a radio. There was more that might need knowledgeable adjustment to tailor the devices to my particular hearing. Turned out to be a good decision. The following things occurred with my purchase that would have been difficult to fix over the internet. These additional in person adjustments made the new hearing aides much better and more satisfying than they were when first set up. 1. Auto programming of the hearing aids from the hearing test data produced left ear volume too low overall. Ms Potts adjusted the level until I perceived equal volume in both ears. 2. The rubber tip that goes in your ear affects comfort and how you hear. She tested 4 different domes to find the best fit and performance. The difference between the first and the final choice was substantial. 3. She created a special u201coutdoor sportsu201d mode specific to my hearing situation. This included a wind reduction aspect that makes it possible to have a conversation while bike riding on windy days. 4. She installed and setup the hearing aid control app on my smart phone. 5. She gave a hands-on lesson in using all aspects of the very capable control program. It really makes a difference in restaurants and other noisy places. 6. She Showed me how to solve occasional software problems with the app that would cause it to not work properly. No Geek Squad required.

Dorothy is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and especially kind. I got hearing aids for the first time last fall. She was thorough and professional in my assessment and in asking me what I needed. I especially like how she showed me how to use the the phone app that lets me fine-tune my aids in different environments like a crowded restaurant or having a conversation while riding in a car. Lynn, the receptionist, is also wonderful in helping to set up appointments and answer questions. I recommend Belsono for testing and purchasing aids.

In her recent retirement, Carol Ann Manning has left more than 30 years of dedicated service to New Hampshire and southern Maine. Her cheerful personalty and professional skills are hard to replace. But with the recent arrival of audiologist Dorothy Potts, LHIS, and the continuing office skills of Lynn Nesbitt, PCC, I have found that much of Carol's sensitivity and work ethic is being carried on in the office. I am heartened that my hearing needs are continued to be met so well in Dover.
